Ginger Snap FAQs

Many couples use their Ginger Snaps for save-the-dates, wedding websites, invitations, guest books, wall art, and Instagram. Others simply want some beautiful photographs together and a good excuse to spend an afternoon exploring somewhere new.

For couples getting married, it’s also a brilliant chance for us to get to know each other before the big day. You’ll see how I work, realise having your photograph taken isn’t nearly as scary as you thought, and arrive at your wedding feeling far more relaxed in front of the camera.

Whatever the reason, you’ll come away with a gallery full of memories and probably a few new profile pictures too.

A Ginger Snap is my relaxed couple photography experience. They’re perfect for engagements, anniversaries, save-the-dates, or simply because you’d like some lovely photos together.

Think less photoshoot, more adventure with me as a third wheel. We’ll go somewhere beautiful, have a wander, a laugh, and create some photographs that actually feel like you.

Anywhere you’d like.

Some couples choose a favourite beach, woodland walk, city centre, or somewhere meaningful to their relationship. If you’re not sure, don’t worry. I know plenty of beautiful locations and can help find somewhere that suits you both.

Wear something that feels like you.

I’d generally avoid large logos and very busy patterns, but the most important thing is that you’re comfortable and confident.

Please don’t feel like you need to buy a whole new wardrobe for the shoot.

Whilst Ginger Snaps are usually focused on the two of you, children are always welcome. We’ll capture a few family pics along the way and keep everything relaxed and fun.

If they’re going to be part of your wedding day, it’s also a brilliant opportunity for them to realise I’m not that scary and get used to having a ginger giant around!

As with all my shoots, there’s no pressure, no forcing anyone to smile on command, and no expectations that little ones will stand still for more than about three seconds. 😄

Absolutely.

Dogs are always welcome and often end up stealing the show. If your four-legged friend is an important part of your family, I’d love to include them.

Most Ginger Snap sessions last around an hour, depending on the location and how much exploring we decide to do.

There’s no stopwatch running though. I’d rather create something relaxed than rush through it.

This is Britain. If we waited for perfect weather, we’d never leave the house.

A little bit of rain rarely ruins a shoot, and sometimes creates some of the most memorable photographs. BUT… If the weather is truly dreadful, I’ll reach out to rearrange for another day.

Typically, you’ll receive your completed gallery within a couple of weeks.

A little, but not much.

I’ll guide you into good light and suggest a few things to do if needed, but I’m not interested in turning you into models. My goal is to capture the two of you being yourselves, not recreating a magazine cover. I just need you to look like you love each other … difficult I know!
